Purchased this book for my sister(who is in India) as a birthday present. The book was out of stock in India. Got a brand new copy from Amazon at a very good price including shipping charges. . Excellent book

As a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, I purchased this book because I read everything I can get my hands on where it pertains to Six Sigma or statistics. The book is very well organized, and touches on subjects with a little more depth than others that I have read. It also has some very practical examples that make the reading connect with the topic, but it does not have examples for all topics. Some of the topics are glossed over and no explanation or examples are given. I understand that this is the body of knowledge for Six Sigma, but it would be nice if it went further. This is a very very good book for anyone who wants to learn, practice, and use the DMAIC approach to getting rid of muda, saving organizations money, and teaching others the principles and disciplines of a targeted approach to problem solving, in my humble opinion.
However, I am still waiting for the ultimate Six Sigma Black Belt-Lean-Statistics book to be written. One book that takes all subjects to the depth; includes examples for all topics; software examples; etc. That book has yet to be written. And maybe I am just wanting one biblical-type encyclopedia to capture all that has been written in many volumes. The Certified Six Sigma Black Belt Handbook, Second Edition

I have bought this handbook together with 3 other co-workers to prepare of our ASQ black belt exam.
We found many typos and calculation errors with the work examples in this book.
On top of that, this book did not cover many questions that were presented in the most recent ASQ Six-Sigma Black Belt exam (Oct 14, 2009) for example logistic regression etc.
We feel that the authors have left out many important steps in explaining the mechanics of several statistical calculations for example hypothesis tests etc.
Therefore, if you plan to rely solely on this handbook for your Black Belt exam, think twice. I strongly suggest you to consider buying a seperate applied statistical handbook.
